Gypsy Jazz with Anniversary Energy at Keller Z87

On Sunday, November 8, 2026, the Würzburg Gypsy Jazz Session celebrates its 70th edition. At the cultural cellar Z87, virtuosic Gypsy Jazz will combine with the spontaneous energy of an open jam session starting at 19:00. As a special guest, the internationally acclaimed guitarist Gismo Graf will open the evening together with the Würzburg formation INSWINGTIEF.

An Anniversary Evening Between Concert and Jam Session

The musical kickoff belongs to Gismo Graf and INSWINGTIEF. With acoustic guitars, violin, and double bass, an immediate event experience is created that combines traditional sound colors of Jazz Manouche with modern joy of playing. The program includes, among others, Dark Eyes, Stompin at Decca, Tears, and Daphne.

Gismo Graf Meets INSWINGTIEF

Gismo Graf is one of the defining guitarists of the current Gypsy Jazz scene. His playing combines technical brilliance, rhythmic precision, and lyrical moments. He is accompanied by INSWINGTIEF with Stefan Degner on guitar, Thomas Buffy on violin, and Sabrina Damiani on double bass.

When Listeners Become Participants

After the opener, the stage opens up for changing musicians with acoustic instruments. This creates a lively audience atmosphere where concert, improvisation, and musical exchange flow into one another. This closeness has characterized the Würzburg Gypsy Jazz Session since its inception in 2017.

An Established Series in the Würzburg Jazz Scene

The monthly session brings together professionals, amateurs, and guests from the regional as well as international Gypsy Jazz scene. For its continuous efforts, the series was awarded the City of Würzburg's Culture Medal in the autumn of 2024. The event planning continues to focus on free access, bar atmosphere, and spontaneous musical encounters.

Conclusion

The 70th Würzburg Gypsy Jazz Session promises an energy-packed concert evening with an international guest, regional jazz expertise, and an open stage full of surprises. Those who want to experience Gypsy Swing, Jazz Manouche, and improvised live music up close will find the perfect venue for this special anniversary at Keller Z87.
