Images and 360° Insights: This is what the café and bakery look like
If you want to take a look inside the café before your visit, you will find a dedicated page on the website with a 360° tour. This shows the premises at the main location on Regensburger Str. 116 – from the counter with the baked goods display to the seating areas. The tour complements the image gallery and conveys an authentic feel for pathways, room layout, and ambiance. The result remains immediately tangible for guests: a wide selection of oven-fresh baked goods, served in the café or offered to take away. With impressions from the tour and photos, interested parties can get an idea in advance of whether they plan a quick coffee at the counter or want to take a seat comfortably. The visit is particularly suitable for families, groups of friends, or morning meetings when baked goods arrive directly from production. The images also show seasonal decorations and boards announcing promotional products. Overall, the visual content provides a transparent impression that makes the way to the café easier: You can see how bright and clear the dining area is designed, what presentation style the products meet, and where the essential areas are located. Opening Hours, Service, and Semmeltaxi: Shop Flexibly and Get Delivered Early
The opening hours are one of the strengths of Bäckerei Hiltner: At the main location Regensburger Str. 116, it welcomes guests from Monday to Saturday starting at 5:30 AM and on Sundays and public holidays from 7:30 AM. Similar times apply to the Haselmühl branch at Vilstalstraße 60. The back café on Marienstraße starts weekdays at 6:00 AM. The specialty shops in Dorfplatz Kümmersbruck, Wolfring, and Ebermannsdorf are designed as local suppliers with morning opening hours. For those who prefer convenience or already have guests at home early in the morning, the Semmeltaxi delivery service can be used. There are two ordering options: a one-time order for a specific day or a recurring order, such as for every weekend. Changes and cancellations are possible until 2:00 PM for the following day, with Friday 2:00 PM as the deadline for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Deliveries are made on weekdays until 7:00 AM and on weekends until 8:00 AM. The ordered baked goods are discreetly hung at the front door or left at an agreed drop-off location upon request. Billing is done collectively at the beginning of the month; payment is made by direct debit, for which the bank details are provided during the ordering process. The delivery area includes Amberg, Kümmersbruck, Freudenberg, Ebermannsdorf, Ensdorf, Rieden, Ursensollen, Ammerthal, Poppenricht, Sulzbach-Rosenberg, Hahnbach, and Gebenbach; thus, Hiltner covers large parts of the district. An additional service advantage: The range in the online portal shows not only prices but also ingredients and allergens, simplifying selection for individual dietary needs. For example, those who prefer spelt will find corresponding products; those who avoid nuts can quickly check the warnings. For planning family breakfasts, team meetings, or club gatherings, it is advisable to plan the quantities of rolls and specialty breads in advance; those who are spontaneous can use the one-time order. Even without delivery, the process remains simple: In the café and branches, clear product presentations and the opportunity to secure the most popular items early ensure a quick shopping experience. Overall, Hiltner offers a reliably comfortable supply concept with long opening hours, several branches, and the early-delivering Semmeltaxi.
Reviews and Experiences: What Guests Appreciate About Hiltner
Online reviews paint a consistent picture: Bäckerei Hiltner is rated around 4.4 out of 5 stars online, based on over two thousand customer opinions. The variety of the range, freshness, and friendly service are often highlighted. The fact that the bakery works with its own natural sourdough and emphasizes dough rest is reflected in the taste of the bread, which many comments confirm. Especially in the morning, when the rolls are still warm from the oven, regular guests appreciate the reliable start to the day. In the café part at the main location, visitors enjoy coffee and pastries; the image materials with the 360° tour allow them to adjust to the atmosphere and seating areas in advance. The long opening hours seven days a week at the main location and in Haselmühl are regularly mentioned positively, as they cater to commuters, families, and early risers. The Semmeltaxi delivery service is also a plus for the region: Those planning with children, home office, or weekend guests receive the rolls contactlessly at the door – a convenience that many describe as exceptionally practical. The online availability of ingredient and allergen lists in the ordering portal builds trust and facilitates conscious decisions. As the range and promotional pastries change with the seasons, it is worth keeping an eye on the online overview or the announcements in the café. Overall, a rounded picture emerges: traditional craftsmanship with modern organization, professional product communication, and a dense branch network for short distances. First-time visitors can choose a classic set of rolls, a mixed bread, and a croissant to get to know the range. For the afternoon round, cake or pastry pieces depending on the daily offer are recommended; specific selections and prices are available in real-time on the portal. This way, both connoisseurs and everyday buyers can quickly find what suits them.

Great atmosphere, wide selection, very nice service, prices are not exactly cheap but you don't go out for breakfast or dinner every day. The chairs by the fireplace are super comfy. I think the snowman turned out especially well 🤩

We recently had breakfast at the Hiltner bakery and were completely satisfied. We particularly liked the atmosphere; there are cozy seating areas (even with sofas) where you can start the day relaxed. What we especially liked: The food: We had one of the breakfast platters and scrambled eggs. Everything was fresh and lovingly arranged. The rolls and pastries were especially great – you can really tell there's genuine craftsmanship behind it. The selection (salmon, salami, cheese, etc.) was absolutely sufficient. The coffee: Nice and hot and strong, just right to wake up. The service: The staff was friendly and quick, even though it was quite busy. We felt welcomed. A little tip: If you come on the weekend, it's best to reserve or bring some time, as it's (rightly) popular. We will definitely come back!

We had breakfast, 2 different variations. First, a "combined" bread basket for 2 people came. 3 rolls, 2 slices of bread. Is there 1.5 rolls per person? Seems strange? A glass of water for a rather pricey breakfast at €3.20 🤪?!!!!! Outrageous! Changes to breakfast €0.80! I've never heard of that 🤨 To everyone who had a similar experience: There's a wonderful hotel right in the middle of Amberg, they have a breakfast buffet that leaves no - really no wishes unfulfilled and is still significantly cheaper! And the good thing is, you can have an excellent breakfast there without being a hotel guest 🤗 No rip-off, no weird extra costs on the bill - and endless water ☺️ Changes also cost nothing, you just choose what you feel like... There are always those really, really great examples!!!! This bakery is not one of them.

I really liked the café for breakfast. There's a good selection, the price is reasonable. We sat comfortably, the service was friendly. There are free parking spaces. I would love to come back, the selection of cakes was also appealing.
