CinemaxX Würzburg | Program & Parking

The CinemaxX Würzburg is the multiplex cinema located directly at the Old Harbor on Veitshöchheimer Straße 5a – just a few minutes away from the Cultural Storage and Congress Center. With seven screens, modern 2D/3D projection, and a selection of comfortable VIP seats, it is a reliable meeting point for movie fans, families, and groups. Convenient for arrival: The Old Harbor parking garage is located right next to the cinema, and there is also a large, usually free parking area along the Main River at Talavera, just a short walk away. The official program page provides up-to-date information on showtimes, new releases, and formats; the venue opens 15 minutes before the first screening and closes 15 minutes after the last show. Those who value comfortable seating can upgrade to VIP seats when purchasing tickets. In the following sections, you will find the most important information about the program, parking, tickets and prices, seating plan, contact, accessibility, and notes for job seekers – all compactly summarized based on official sources from Würzburg and CinemaxX.

Current Program at CinemaxX Würzburg

The program of CinemaxX Würzburg is centrally maintained online and updated daily. There, you can select the date, language, format, and screen with just a few clicks. In addition to major Hollywood blockbusters, European productions, family films, event screenings, and anime highlights are regularly featured. The fact that search queries like 'cinemaxx würzburg program' are among the most common is also due to many visitors planning their cinema visits around specific titles: Anime fans look for series like Demon Slayer or Chainsaw Man, families search for Pumuckl or The School of Magical Animals, musical lovers for sequels like Wicked 2, and nostalgics for special re-releases from the Harry Potter universe. You can always reliably find out which of these titles are showing and on which days on the program page; there you will also find short-term additional screenings, language versions, or special formats (for example, 3D). If you want to plan your evening early, you can filter the display by days and select seats directly. The integrated seat selection allows you to see the occupancy in the desired screen during the booking process – helpful if you prefer popular edge seats, central rows, or the VIP seating area. Since the venue only opens 15 minutes before the first screening, it is worth planning a little buffer; this way, there is time for snack purchases and a relaxed entry. For major film openings, multiplexes often schedule additional screenings that only appear in the system shortly before the date; therefore, it is advisable to check the page regularly. Special promotions or theme days are also announced there. If you are coming in a group – for example, as a school class, club, or company – you can find support for contiguous seating and questions about accessibility, such as wheelchair spaces and companions, through the service center's contact channels. Tip for frequent viewers: The program page not only shows the start dates of new films but also what remains in the house on the following days. This way, two films can be optimally combined – especially when parking and arrival are well organized.

Parking at CinemaxX Würzburg: Old Harbor and Talavera

For those arriving by car, the location at the Old Harbor offers clear advantages. Right next to the cinema is the Old Harbor parking garage on Veitshöchheimer Straße 5a. This parking garage is listed in local overviews by the city traffic and parking operators, is open 24/7, and offers covered parking spaces – including designated spots for guests with limited mobility and a typical entrance height of 2.00 meters. The rates are transparently provided in the official parking information and differentiate between daytime and evening hours; you can usually pay in cash or by card at the machine. It is only a few steps from the exit to the cinema entrance, making it easy to attend a late screening. A second, highly sought-after option is Talavera on the northern bank of the Main River opposite the Old Harbor: According to city information and local cultural institutions, there are about 1,000 parking spaces available there, and the walk to CinemaxX takes approximately five minutes over the bridge or along the riverbank. Talavera is often designated as usually free; it is especially suitable for screenings with higher attendance or if you want to avoid parking garage fees. If you prefer to use public transport, you also benefit from the location: Nearby are the stops Kulturspeicher (tram lines 2 and 4) as well as bus connections from the main train station and the city center; official visitor information from local cultural partners indicates that the walk from the main train station takes about ten minutes on foot, and bus lines like 11, 13, 18, 27, and others serve the area. For cyclists, there are parking options nearby at Oskar-Laredo-Platz or around the Cultural Storage. Regardless of the mode of transport, it is advisable to plan a few minutes of reserve time to ensure a stress-free ticket scan and snack purchase. Note for navigation users: When entering the destination, pay attention to the postal code 97080 and the spelling of Veitshöchheimer Straße 5a; this way, you can avoid detours within the old town. If you start in the evening, you will often find reduced hourly rates in the parking information – check the current details from the operators before departure.

Tickets, Prices, and Vouchers

Ticket booking for CinemaxX Würzburg is conveniently done online through the official site with seating plan view. There, you select the screening, seats, and – if desired – an upgrade to VIP seats. A price overview is provided by the cinema as a PDF; it clearly lists the categories, surcharges (for example, for 3D), and any discounts. Since prices can vary depending on the day, format, and seat category, checking the current PDF is the most reliable source. Tickets purchased online can be shown digitally on your smartphone; scanning stations at the screen entrance speed up entry. For inquiries and booking requests, the CinemaxX service center can be reached by phone; the lines are staffed daily between 10 AM and 4 PM. Reservations – including for wheelchair spaces – can also be made via email. If you are looking for vouchers, you will usually find both digital and physical options in the CinemaxX cosmos; they are suitable for gifts, employee occasions, and groups. When redeeming, please note that certain special formats or surcharges may be excluded – the exact details are stated in the voucher conditions on the booking page. Tip for families and school classes: Group inquiries are best made early to reserve contiguous seats in the desired screen. For a relaxed evening, it is advisable to get snacks and drinks in time before the screening; the venue opens 15 minutes before the first and closes 15 minutes after the last screening, which defines the time windows. If you want to roughly compare prices in advance, you can refer to the publicly accessible overview; however, the information in the price PDF is always binding. Regardless, it is worth checking ongoing promotions announced on the program page. Additionally, combine parking options and screenings so that you can exit quickly after the credits – in the Old Harbor parking garage, the payment machines are clearly visible; at Talavera, ticket payment is usually completely waived.

VIP Seats, Seating Plan, and Best Seats

CinemaxX Würzburg has seven screens with modern projection and classic multiplex layout. According to cinema information, there are a total of around 1,830 seats available; external seating plans that specify the seating arrangement per screen show 1,846 seats. The difference may be due to updates during renovations and construction. Particularly notable is Screen 7: It is the largest screen in the house, externally listed with 646 seats and is equipped with a THX sound system – an indication of powerful, precise sound for appropriately tuned films. Other screens range in size from about 130 to over 270 seats, covering everything from an intimate arthouse feel to large premieres. An added comfort is the VIP seats, which you can book as an upgrade when purchasing: extra-wide seating areas, comfortable armrests, and a reclining function provide a significantly more relaxed viewing experience – especially for long films, double features, or if you want to gift a cinema visit. Seat recommendations depend on the film: For dialogue-heavy works, central rows at the height of the projection center prove effective, while many prefer the sound sweet spot region slightly behind the center for effects-heavy blockbusters. Since the seat selection is visualized online, you can identify free VIP rows and specifically choose your favorite. For 3D screenings, a distance of about 1.5 to 2 times the screen height is recommended; those sensitive to brightness will usually find well-calibrated projection with the appropriate glasses at CinemaxX. Wheelchair spaces are marked separately on the seating plan; reservations can be made by phone and email. The seating selection is also helpful for parents with children: Short distances to exits and restrooms facilitate breaks, while central seats enhance visibility over potentially larger visitor rows. If you sit right at the front, you benefit from maximum immersion in action-packed films; those seeking an overview should sit one or two rows behind the center. No matter what you choose – the combination of modern image, clean 2D/3D playback, and powerful multi-channel sound makes the venue a balanced choice for cozy movie nights and event premieres.

Contact, Opening Hours, and Accessibility

For general inquiries, booking requests, and service concerns, you can reach the CinemaxX service center by phone at 040 80 80 69 69; the hotline is staffed daily from 10 AM to 4 PM. Reservations – including wheelchair spaces – can also be arranged via email. The cinema itself opens 15 minutes before the first screening and closes 15 minutes after the last. The address on-site in Würzburg is Veitshöchheimer Straße 5a, 97080 Würzburg – the location is directly at the Old Harbor, near the Cultural Storage and Congress Center. Those arriving by public transport can use tram lines 2 and 4 or various bus lines that serve the stops in the vicinity; official visitor information from local cultural houses indicates that the walk from the main train station is doable in about ten minutes. Regarding accessibility, CinemaxX provides a PDF with details on access, seating, and services. Important for guests with a severe disability ID: If a companion is noted in the ID, they receive free admission, provided they can assist if needed – a regulation that makes the cinema visit inclusive and planable. Since demand for certain screenings can be high, early online booking is advisable; this way, you secure your desired seats, including the VIP row. For questions about picking up or scanning online tickets, the team on-site is ready to assist; the entry processes are designed for short waiting times. If you are using a car, pay attention to the nearby parking options: Old Harbor parking garage directly at the cinema and – with a short walk – Talavera. Those arriving by bicycle will find parking options around Oskar-Laredo-Platz. For visitors with strollers or large luggage, it is advisable to arrive a bit before the screening begins; this way, there is time for snacks, drinks, and a calm seat change in the screen. In general, the most reliable, up-to-date information on contact, opening hours, prices, and programs can be found on the official cinema website.

Jobs and Careers at CinemaxX Würzburg

If you search for 'cinemaxx würzburg jobs', you will find the central career pages of the CinemaxX network, where open positions for the house in Würzburg are published. Regularly, service staff for the box office and concession, projectionists or technical staff, shift or team leaders, as well as occasional student assistants are sought. Applications are usually submitted online through a form system; there, you upload your resume and – if required – certificates and leave your contact details. The job postings include details about tasks, working hours (including evenings and weekends), training, and benefits. For career changers, the multiplex operation offers good opportunities, as customer service, teamwork, and reliability are at the forefront. Those planning long-term can find out about internal training opportunities within the CinemaxX network and benefit from experiences across different locations. For student jobs, it is advisable to apply early, as demand is particularly high before holiday periods and blockbuster releases. An advantage in the application process is the good accessibility of the location – both by public transport (tram lines 2 and 4, bus connections from the train station and city center) and by car via Old Harbor parking garage and Talavera. In daily operations, friendliness, quick work at the box office, care in the snack area, and a keen eye at entry are essential. Tech-savvy applicants interested in projection and sound will find an exciting environment in the projection booths focused on image quality, sound check, and safety. Information on data protection and handling of applicant data is provided on the career pages; refer to the current job posting. If you no longer find a posted position, it is worth checking back later – the program and thus the staffing needs change throughout the season. Those already working in the cinema know the advantage of experiencing film releases up close; at the same time, customer service is a responsibility that significantly contributes to a positive visitor experience. In short: If you enjoy teamwork and like the cinema atmosphere, CinemaxX Würzburg offers a well-connected workplace in a central location.

Tickets, Prices, Snacks, and Practical Tips for Your Visit

In addition to seat selection, many guests are concerned about 'cinemaxx würzburg prices' and 'cinemaxx würzburg popcorn prices'. The cinema publishes specific ticket prices in an official PDF; it lists standard categories, surcharges (e.g., 3D), and discounts. It is advisable to check this document before your visit, as prices may depend on the day of the week, the screen, the format, and special promotions. The same applies to snacks and drinks: the selection and bundles vary but are transparently displayed on-site. If you want to save money, choose showtimes with lower demand, check promotions on the program page, or use vouchers that can be digitally gifted and redeemed. If you are going to the cinema with children, it is best to plan a buffer of 20 to 30 minutes: This way, there is time for restroom visits, selection at the concession stand, and settling into your seats. For highly sought-after films, it is advisable to check the parking ticket right after arrival to exit quickly after the credits. Guests who are particularly sensitive to sound should choose seats slightly behind the center – there, the sound is usually balanced. For glasses wearers at 3D screenings, the provided glasses models help; be sure to put the glasses on carefully to avoid ghosting. Use the service center hotline if you have questions about booking or need help with seat selection; the staff is available daily between 10 AM and 4 PM. The venue opens 15 minutes before the first screening – those who arrive early have the greatest selection of snacks and the most relaxed entry. For those arriving without a car, the tram is a good option; the Kulturspeicher stop is within comfortable walking distance, and several bus lines serve the area at the Old Harbor. If you park at Talavera, you can reach the cinema on foot in just a few minutes; the paths are well signposted. In short: With a little preparation – booking, parking, arrival – nothing stands in the way of a successful movie night.

It was my first time at this cinema and, in general, my first cinema visit in many years. The prices for drinks and snacks are completely outrageous (the smallest popcorn portion costs €7.20), which is an absolute disgrace! Moreover, there isn't even free Wi-Fi here, which should be standard in public facilities nowadays. When I asked, I was told that even the staff don't have free Wi-Fi here... Overall, the building and decor don't look very modern, and the 'new' soft drink machines were all broken except for 2. And then cinema operators wonder why people aren't going to the movies anymore and are opting for streaming?

Yesterday, we went to Cinemaxx Würzburg as a pair. But even getting to the ticket was extremely unpleasant. 10% pre-sale fee? Excuse me? That's outrageous! Then we booked VIP seats. Upon arriving at the cinema: worn-out carpet, poorly displayed movie ads. You have to fill your own drinks. The VIP seats are a joke. The Deutsche Bahn has better adjustable seats, and they even stay in the desired position. The sound was really bad too; I genuinely wonder why I should go to the movies if THIS is the experience. For comparison: a bit outside the city, there's a cinema that does EVERYTHING I criticize here better. Everything. I'll be going back there in the future.

The drink selection is huge. The cinema halls are nice and clean. Are they also well-maintained? Have I been here already? 8 times Show In.

I was at CinemaxX Würzburg today, and unfortunately, the visit was anything but satisfactory. In Cinema 1, the sound was very poor and muffled. Additionally, the entire screen had a noticeable blue tint, making it hard to see anything, especially in dark scenes. When I brought this up to the staff, my criticism was unfortunately not taken seriously. I missed friendliness or interest in finding a solution. What a shame – I used to enjoy coming here, but after this experience, it will likely be my last visit to this cinema.

I was thrilled with my visit on Sunday afternoon. Very nice, competent, and professional staff. The cinema is in top condition (despite its age), spotless, and the picture and sound quality are very good. The upholstered seats still look like new and are so soft that you want to sink into them. Well-managed and well-maintained cinema, kudos to the theater management, service, and cleaning staff.
