DJK Würzburg | Football & Swimming

The DJK Würzburg is much more than a single sports field or a single training group. The Sports Association Deutsche Jugendkraft Würzburg e.V. has been connecting competitive sports, recreational sports, children's programs, rehabilitation sports, and a lived community since 1920. At the center is the DJK Sports Center located at Wredestraße 23 in the Würzburg district of Zellerau. There, people from different generations come together to train, prepare for competitions, learn new sports, or simply stay active. Therefore, the address is associated with many search terms such as DJK Würzburg Football, DJK Würzburg Swimming, DJK Würzburg Courses, and DJK Würzburg Contact.

The club's offerings include, among other things, football for men, women, girls, youth, and an inclusion team, as well as swimming, tennis, judo, gymnastics, athletics, volleyball, aikido, badminton, recreational sports, and rehabilitation sports. A special role is played by the children's sports school KiSS, which allows children to gain diverse movement experiences before they permanently commit to a specific sport. The sports center includes two sports halls, an extensive outdoor sports facility, a beach volleyball court, a skate park, an all-weather pitch, and a public restaurant with a beer garden. The DJK tennis facility is located at the Mainwiesen in Mainaustraße and has five tennis courts.

Those who want to get to know DJK Würzburg will find a versatile point of contact for training, club life, and athletic development. Since training times, courses, teams, and organizational information can be adjusted seasonally, direct contact with the office or the respective department is recommended for specific questions. The following information categorizes the most important topics of frequently searched terms and shows what DJK Würzburg stands for in the city and beyond.

DJK Würzburg Football: Men, Women, Girls, and Inclusion

Football is one of the central offerings of DJK Würzburg. The department is not only aimed at a single age group but covers various areas of football. The club overview mentions men's, women's, girls' football, youth football, an inclusion team, and a recreational team. This means that DJK appeals to both ambitious players and children, teenagers, and people who want to experience football primarily as a communal leisure activity. Those searching for DJK Würzburg Football, DJK Würzburg Women's Football, or DJK Würzburg Women will find the appropriate first point of contact in the department.

The match operations are integrated into the structures of the Bavarian Football Association. For the 2025/2026 season, SB DJK Würzburg was listed in an official BFV classification of women's football. This makes it clear that women's football not only exists as a recreational offering but can also be integrated into regular association operations. However, the exact league, current teams, match dates, and training times can change from season to season. Therefore, current information should be checked directly through DJK or the BFV match operations.

The football grounds at Wredestraße belong to the DJK Sports Center and provide the club with a fixed focal point for training and home matches. The sports facility includes two grass pitches within the outdoor sports facility. Additionally, there is the club's home or restaurant at the location. This creates a social meeting point around match days where teams, families, and spectators can come together. The combination of sports field, clubhouse, and other sports offerings is typical for a multi-sport club like DJK.

For the youth, the focus is on a combination of movement, technique, team behavior, and social development. Boys and girls can orient themselves in age-appropriate teams, while adults can become active in men's, women's, or recreational offerings. The inclusion team also shows that football at DJK is not solely performance-oriented. Those looking to join should inquire with the office or the football officials about trial training, age groups, team assignments, and available spots.

The search terms DJK Würzburg BFV and DJK Würzburg Women's Football thus refer to two different informational needs: on the one hand, it is about club membership and match operations, and on the other hand, about the direct entry into a team. For binding information on current matches, squads, and training times, the official club information and BFV data are decisive. This way, match schedules and athletic assignments remain up to date.

DJK Würzburg Swimming and Swimming Courses for Children and Adults

The swimming department of DJK Würzburg has a long history. It was founded in 1968 and started with four boys and their coach Bernhard Reble in a teaching swimming pool. According to DJK, this developed into the largest department of the club. Bernhard Reble remains closely connected to the swimming sport of DJK, as does his family and a team of trained coaches. This history explains why the search term DJK Würzburg Swimming holds particular significance in the club's profile.

Content-wise, the department connects two areas: responsible competitive sports and swimming courses. The training aims to enable athletic goals without losing sight of the individuals' personalities. According to club information, DJK swimmers have been successful at district, regional, and state levels. The department has also participated in masters competitions as well as DJK national sports festivals and FICEP Games. This creates a structure where children can gather their first swimming experiences and talented athletes can later train in a performance-oriented manner.

The swimming offerings do not take place exclusively at the DJK Sports Center, as the club does not operate its own swimming pool there. The swimming department uses Würzburg pools and school locations, including Nautiland and Friedrich-Koenig-Gymnasium. The published information lists swimming courses for children, toddler groups, youth groups, active swimmers, masters, and swimming for adults. Times and locations can be influenced by holidays, closures, or changes in school and pool operations. Therefore, interested parties should pay attention to the current notices from the swimming department.

Particularly noteworthy is the long tradition of children's courses. The swimming department states that it has been offering swimming courses for children since 1981 and has reached more than 4,000 children since then. This highlights the importance of water acclimatization and swimming education within the club. Families should clarify which age, performance level, and course location are suitable for their child before registering. Adults can also discuss questions about entry, training groups, and course formats directly with the department.

DJK Würzburg thus stands for a combination of education, regular movement, and competitive sports in swimming. Those looking for a swimming course should not only pay attention to the club's name but also check the current course times and respective locations. For the club, it is crucial that training is organized reliably and that both beginners and advanced swimmers find themselves in suitable groups. The swimming department publishes its ongoing notices on its own website, while the main DJK page explains the sporting framework and connection to the overall club.

DJK Würzburg Tennis, Sports Center, and Facilities in Zellerau

Tennis is one of the traditional sports in the offerings of DJK Würzburg. The club's own tennis facility is not located directly at Wredestraße but at Mainwiesen in Mainaustraße 46b. There, five tennis courts and a tennis clubhouse are available. For those searching for DJK Würzburg Tennis, this location information is particularly important because the sports center and tennis facility have different addresses. Therefore, anyone looking for training, a court, or a contact person should check before arriving whether it concerns the tennis facility or the DJK Sports Center.

The tennis courts at Mainwiesen provide a unique framework within the multi-sport club. Tennis is organizationally different from indoor sports and football but remains integrated into the club structure of DJK. The tennis clubhouse complements the courts as a meeting point for the department. Especially in a club with multiple sports, this creates the opportunity to combine sports activity with personal exchange. Information on court occupancy, training, teams, and membership should be obtained directly from the tennis department or the office, as these details can vary seasonally and organizationally.

On the other hand, the DJK Sports Center at Wredestraße 23 serves as the central location for many other offerings. The city of Würzburg describes the facility as an extensive sports area with two sports halls. This includes a large event gym with a high ropes course and a gymnastics hall. Outside, there are two grass pitches, a beach volleyball court, a skate park, and an all-weather pitch. This combination allows for various uses: team sports, gymnastics, children's offerings, outdoor training, and club events.

The facility also includes a public restaurant with a beer garden. The restaurant does not replace specific event or opening hours information but can be understood as a social component of the sports center. During home games, courses, or club activities, a gastronomic meeting point for members and visitors is practical. Those specifically searching for DJK Würzburg Restaurant should inquire about current opening hours, menus, and reservation options directly with the operator or the club, as this information cannot be derived permanently from general club data.

The spatial diversity makes DJK Würzburg a sports location with multiple levels. In the hall, courses for children and adults take place, football is played on the grass pitches, and the outdoor area complements the offerings with beach volleyball, a skate park, and an all-weather pitch. The tennis courts on Mainaustraße expand the facility profile with their own racket sports facility. A classic event hall or a fixed seating plan like in a concert hall is not the appropriate measure for DJK. Visitors should rather inquire about the respective department and the specific training or event location.

DJK Würzburg KiSS, Gymnastics, and Versatile Courses

The children's sports school KiSS is an important part of the family and course offerings of DJK Würzburg. The concept follows the fundamental idea of starting movement early and delaying specialization in a single sport as much as possible. Children thus learn different forms of movement, games, and athletic fundamentals. Instead of training exclusively in football, swimming, or gymnastics early on, they receive a broad foundation. For parents searching for DJK Würzburg KiSS or DJK Würzburg Courses, this concept is particularly relevant.

A large part of the KiSS hours takes place at the DJK Sports Center in Wredestraße. The club's information indicates that new courses usually start at the beginning of a new school year and are announced in advance via the homepage and by email. A lateral entry is generally possible, provided there is no lack of space or waiting list. For available spots, a trial in the KiSS hours may be possible. According to the FAQ, registration for a course does not automatically mean registration for club membership. Parents should keep this distinction in mind before booking.

The KiSS collaborates with other movement concepts such as the Heidelberg Ball School. Holiday programs and sports camps are also included as components of the children's area. The specific content, age groups, and schedules may change depending on the school year. Therefore, registration should always be based on the currently published schedule. DJK also mentions the possibility of accepting vouchers for education and participation. Families with corresponding claims can contact the club for the exact processing.

Further courses and recreational sports include fitness, yoga, Pilates, spinal gymnastics, women's gymnastics, and other offerings. The program is complemented by rehabilitation sports. This variety makes the club interesting for people who do not want to play in a competitive team. Courses can provide a low-threshold entry, promote regular movement, and facilitate contact with other members. Which courses are currently taking place depends on instructors, hall times, and the respective school year.

Gymnastics also has its own profile within DJK. The club overview refers to gymnastics and athletic activities up to the German and Bavarian Gymnastics League. Thus, the spectrum ranges from general children's gymnastics to performance-oriented structures. The large event gym with a high ropes course creates special spatial conditions for this. Nevertheless, interested parties should clarify in advance whether they are looking for a course, a trial training session, a youth group, or a competition group.

Those searching for DJK Würzburg Cancellation often mean the KiSS membership. The official FAQ states a minimum duration of six months. After that, a written cancellation with a notice period of six weeks to the end of a school semester is possible, namely at the end of February or the end of August. Different regulations may apply to other club areas. In case of doubt, the written cancellation should be addressed to the responsible office or the respective contractual partner and confirmed in a timely manner.

DJK Würzburg Judo, Athletics, and Other Sports

Judo is another established department of DJK Würzburg. According to club information, children can start judo as early as six years old. The focus is on comprehensive training of the youth. In addition to techniques, discipline, body control, respect, and safe interaction with the partner are fundamental to the sport. The coaching team is supported by licensed trainers. The department offers both programs for children and training for teenagers and adults.

The training locations may differ by age group and day of the week. Information from the judo department lists the DJK Sports Center in Wredestraße as a training location and also includes the tectake ARENA or its side hall for individual units. During school holidays, according to the training location page, all units take place at the DJK Sports Center. Since training plans and holiday regulations can be adjusted, it is advisable to check the current information in advance. Guests and interested parties should contact the judo department before their first visit.

Athletics complements the offerings with running, jumping, and throwing. As an outdoor sports facility, the DJK Sports Center has two grass pitches, an all-weather pitch, and other outdoor areas available. Which disciplines, age groups, and training times are currently offered depends on the available instructors and the respective season. The search term DJK Würzburg Athletics thus refers to an area where a direct inquiry is particularly helpful. This way, it can be clarified whether a children's training, a youth offering, or an adult training group fits.

Volleyball, aikido, badminton, recreational sports, and rehabilitation sports are also part of the club profile. These areas show that DJK should not be perceived solely as a football club. People with different goals can find an appropriate access: athletic performance, health promotion, social encounters, movement in childhood, or regular training without competitive pressure. The Christian-based DJK self-understanding describes sports as a service to people and emphasizes that people of all religions and cultures are welcome, as long as the club's values are respected.

The departments operate independently but are part of the common sports association. This allows members from different areas to use the club's infrastructure and participate in club life. For a specific sport, the responsible department page is the best source of information. There, contact persons, training locations, and information on age groups can usually be found. If a page does not contain current information, the office can help.

Club life arises from many individual activities: team training, children's courses, competitions, course offerings, volunteer work, and encounters after sports.

For visitors, there is no universally valid event calendar like in a cultural hall. Programs, match schedules, and training times are organized by the respective departments. Football matches, swimming competitions, gymnastics events, judo dates, or KiSS courses follow different calendars. Therefore, anyone wishing to come to the sports center today or on a specific date should check the specific date in advance. For directions, Wredestraße 23 is the key address of the main location. Information on parking options may vary depending on the event and occupancy.
