Breakfast is an essential part of the travel experience for many – at Hotel Strauss, it is served daily from 7:00 to 10:00 AM in the restaurant area and is organized as an extensive buffet. The morning begins with a clear structure: a modern, cozy atmosphere in the Christians Bistro area, buffet stations with cold and hot components, and hot beverages served at the table. The focus is on a solid selection that caters to different breakfast habits: types of bread and rolls, cold cuts and cheese, sweet spreads, muesli and cereals, yogurt and fruit options, as well as savory items that vary by day. Even those who leave early for appointments or prepare for a conference benefit from the set times between 7 and 10 AM. For hotel guests, the restaurant serves exclusively as a breakfast room in the morning; later in the day, it transitions to regular restaurant operations, allowing for efficient use of the areas. Conveniently located on the ground floor, the pathways are short and barrier-free, with a few steps leading to separate rooms like the Julius conference room or the historic vaulted cellar, which can be used for group breakfasts or smaller meetings if needed. Thanks to the central downtown location, after breakfast, you can reach attractions like the Würzburg Cathedral or the Alte Mainbrücke within a few minutes' walk, and tram and bus stops are in close proximity. Families traveling with children will find options for kids at the buffet; baby beds are available upon request. Thus, breakfast is more than just a meal: it is a planned starting point for the day in Würzburg, whether sightseeing, business, or conferences are on the agenda.
Parking and Access: Underground Garage Pleich Next Door, Convenient Walk from the Main Train Station and Tram Stop Ulmer Hof
The location at Juliuspromenade is central – yet the arrival can be organized easily. For drivers: the few parking spaces directly at the hotel are highly sought after and available only upon request. The public underground garage Pleich with around 350 spaces, located in the adjacent building, is a reliable option. Hotel guests receive a discounted rate there, and according to City Partner information, parking is usually possible either at the hotel or in the underground garage for about €13 per day, depending on availability and vehicle height. Thanks to the short distances, you can walk from the parking area to the hotel without getting wet. Those approaching Würzburg via the highways can use the exits Würzburg-Heidingsfeld, Würzburg-Estenfeld, or Würzburg-Kist, following the clearly marked routes towards the city center, Congress Centrum, and main train station; a practical landmark is the junction Alter Kranen, from where you turn right into Juliuspromenade. For navigation systems and delivery services, the address is Juliuspromenade 5, 97070 Würzburg. Train travelers can reach the hotel in about 5 to 10 minutes on foot: from the main train station straight through Kaiserstraße, then right into Juliuspromenade, with the hotel on the right at the end. Even more convenient is the tram: lines 2 and 4 head towards Zellerau to the Ulmer Hof stop, which is directly opposite the hotel. Those planning a bike tour along the Main can securely park their bike in the courtyard; there are also charging options for e-bikes. For route planning on smartphones, the hotel can be easily found in common map services; the designation City Partner Hotel Strauss, Juliuspromenade 5 leads directly to the destination. The interplay of a central old town location, parking options right next door, short distances to the train station, and the tram stop in front of the door makes arrival manageable – whether alone, with family, as a group, or with conference equipment in tow.
Menu and Restaurant at Juliuspromenade: Franconian Classics, International Cuisine, Terrace, and Opening Hours
The hotel's restaurant bridges the gap between regional roots and international flavors. The menu features Franconian classics and international dishes; seasonal theme weeks – asparagus, chanterelles, lamb, game, duck, or goose – highlight the year. The kitchen also offers vegetarian and vegan options as well as a small selection of senior dishes; families can find a children's menu. In line with this, regional Franconian wines are served or a fresh pilsner from Würzburger Hofbräu on tap. During the warm months, the summer terrace in front of the house expands the seating capacity and opens up views of the lively activity on Juliuspromenade. For groups and celebrations, the restaurant is divided into separate areas: the adjoining room accommodates up to 40 people or 32 at two tables, the Blue Room allows for up to 66 people at individual tables, 54 at two tables, or 30 at one table, depending on the seating arrangement. The bistro can seat up to 45 guests, with two tables for 12 and 15 places available. Seasonal closing times should be noted, such as the winter break from December 22, 2025, to January 13, 2026; during the wine parade from August 25, 2025, to September 9, 2025, the restaurant team will be working at the festival grounds, and the house will be gastronomically closed accordingly. Current menus and promotional weeks are announced online; reservations are recommended, especially on weekends and in combination with event packages. Due to the close connection with the hotel, menus, conference breaks, and private celebrations can be reliably planned – with short distances between rooms, seminar room, and table.

Tip: Gift vouchers for the restaurant are a great option; those wanting to extend the evening can book one of the weekend packages and enjoy the breakfast buffet the next morning to reflect on the case over coffee.

The Julius conference room is located above the bistro and is accessible via a few steps; with 30 square meters, it offers up to 16 seats in classic conference seating with tables, and up to 25 seats without tables. The third room is the historic vaulted cellar with about 46 square meters, which can be used both as a meeting room and as an event space; as a meeting room, it realistically accommodates up to 24 people, and for celebrations, up to 30 people.
Crime Dinner at Restaurant Würtzburg: Enjoyment with Goosebumps, Fixed Time, and Pre-Sale
Special evenings are the focus of the Crime Dinner, which regularly takes place at Restaurant Würtzburg in Hotel Strauss. The format combines theater and culinary experiences: a multi-course menu is accompanied by an exciting crime story that unfolds between the courses. The house explicitly points out the event and links to the ticket shop; tickets are only available in advance. Sample dates include Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 7:00 PM for the variant "A Corpse in the Louvre," which various event portals list for the restaurant at Juliuspromenade 5. For long-term planning, there is also a date on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 7:00 PM, also as a crime dinner at Restaurant Würtzburg. Experience shows that the seats are in high demand, and reservations and ticket purchases should be made early, especially on weekends and during holiday periods. Those combining the Crime Dinner with a stay benefit from the short distances within the house: the breakfast area is located in the bistro, the historic vaulted cellar can be reserved for smaller groups before or after the show, and the team coordinates menu sequences or vegetarian alternatives. Convenient for those arriving: with the underground garage next door and the Ulmer Hof stop across the street, the evening can be enjoyed without searching for parking or long walks. Content variations and prices are with the external organizer; the presentation on ticket portals usually states a start time of 7:00 PM and a price range starting from about €95 to just over €100, depending on the date and menu. Tip: Gift vouchers for the restaurant are a great option; those wanting to extend the evening can book one of the weekend packages and enjoy the breakfast buffet the next morning to reflect on the case over coffee.
Rooms, Photos, and Prices: 76 Air-Conditioned Non-Smoking Rooms, Check-in from 3:00 PM, Rich Amenities
The hotel features 76 rooms and suites, all designated as non-smoking and equipped with air conditioning. Those who value peace, planned processes, and solid amenities will find a reliable framework here: soundproof windows, a desk or seating area, refrigerator, safe, and flat-screen TV with around 50 international TV and radio channels, as well as an additional seven free-to-air Sky channels. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the house; an internet terminal is provided in the lobby. For families, the team can provide baby beds upon request, and multi-bed and family rooms make planning with children easier. Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and on the day of departure, the room is available until 11:00 AM; early check-in from 12:00 PM or late check-out until 2:00 PM can be booked as an additional service. Breakfast can be flexibly added or removed; it is served daily from 7:00 to 10:00 AM and costs €15.00 per adult, €7.50 per child up to 12 years. Price examples provide a rough orientation: standard single rooms from about €70, standard double rooms from about €100, comfort doubles from about €115, superior doubles from about €135, triple rooms from about €135, large suites from about €185 per night, each including VAT and excluding breakfast. The specific rates depend on the travel date, demand, and special promotions; it is best to check the current availability. For visual orientation, a photo gallery and 360-degree tours for the hotel and rooms are available online; this allows for prior comparison of room categories and bathroom variants. Those traveling by bike will find secure parking options in the courtyard; charging options are available for e-bikes. Pets are not allowed in the house. For business travelers and conference guests, beverage and snack offerings, a luggage room, and a night porter complete the service. Due to the close proximity to the city center, you can reach restaurants, cafes, wine bars, and attractions on foot – ideal for spontaneous evening plans after check-in.
Conference Rooms and Celebrations: Blue Room, Julius Conference Room, Vaulted Cellar, and Capacity Overview
As a conference hotel in the city center, the house offers three air-conditioned rooms equipped with conference technology. The largest is the Blue Room with around 60 square meters; depending on the seating arrangement and table setup, events for up to 50 people are possible here. This makes the room suitable for seminars, workshops, product presentations, or small conferences. All rooms are equipped with standard conference technology, air-conditioned, and connected to the hotel's free Wi-Fi. Culinary accompaniment is provided by conference packages or individually tailored menus from the restaurant; coffee breaks, lunch, and dinner menus are timed to the agenda and schedule. For private occasions, the structure of the gastronomy is additionally suitable: the adjoining room accommodates up to 40 people, the Blue Room in the restaurant area allows for up to 66 people at individual tables, 54 at two tables, or 30 at one table depending on the setup; the bistro is flexible with up to 45 seats, and the terrace offers up to 35 seats in summer. Thanks to the central location, participants can reach Würzburg's highlights on foot after an intensive workday; those arriving by car can use the underground garage next door. For train travelers, the distance to the main train station is short, and the Ulmer Hof tram stop is directly opposite. This allows for the organization of arrival, agenda, and evening program – such as a crime dinner – within a compact radius. The team creates individual offers upon request, taking into account technical and room requests and linking accommodation contingents with the required rooms.

My hotel of choice in Würzburg. Very warm, friendly, and clean. Absolutely central location. I arrived last minute due to a family emergency, and the ladies at the reception were so understanding, helpful, and incredibly flexible. THANK YOU! 💕

Very friendly, relaxed ladies at the reception, overall pleasant room, good bed, great shower, absolutely clean and quiet, rich breakfast with good coffee and hearty baked goods, all in a prime location... What more could you want? The only individual point of criticism: I struggled with the large pillow, I'm used to a neck pillow.

Great location, everything within walking distance in no time, plus the tram line runs right in front of the house. Very friendly welcome upon arrival, the hotel and the rooms were particularly clean, nothing was missing. The breakfast was perfect, everything you need was there. All in all, a truly relaxing stay, this hotel and its staff deserve every praise.

Somehow I still felt the real hotel charm. I really liked it. Nice and very friendly reception. My bed was way too soft for my taste. The room was clean.

Very nice reception at the front desk, the room had air conditioning AND a fan. The breakfast buffet and the service were great, overall a fair price. In 2025, asking whether one really has to pay with a credit card for the minibar drinks unfortunately deducts a point in the B-grade.
