My review only concerns the building of the Mainfranken Theater. For over two years now, this theater resembles more of a construction ruin than a beautiful cultural house. The Ludwigstraße along the theater is just one big hilly landscape (which is now affecting every third street in Würzburg) and makeshift bus stops have been 'built' (the theater probably can't do much about that). The reception building on Theaterstraße is nicely designed and open. However, all green spaces in front of the theater have been sealed, and the area in front of the theater resembles a concrete desert, heating up to over 40 degrees on summer days. You can't think of relaxation here.

We were at the small house two months ago and were really looking forward to the performance. However, we couldn't enjoy it. I would call the renovation an absolute misstep. At 30 degrees outside temperature, we noticed no air conditioning or ventilation in the atrium and stairwell. We were only allowed to enter the small hall 5 minutes before the performance, and since there was no ventilation felt outside the hall, many visitors fled to the stairwell. Inside the hall, there was a well-adjusted air conditioning. The biggest misstep in the renovation for me is the lack of space for our feet; I can't recommend the hall for people over 1.80m. I was lucky enough to have an empty seat next to me, so I could push my feet to my nonexistent neighbor. Conclusion: we won't be attending any more performances in the small hall; hopefully, legroom will be improved in the large hall.

It's cozy to sit there. Right in the city, but still a bit off the beaten path. Delicious drinks, tasty breakfast. Prices are relatively okay. Service... like everywhere... there are good and not so good ones 🤣 But we'll gladly come back...

Comment on the architecture: the front facing the theater square seems too massive to me. A bit out of proportion.
