Those traveling with children often find quieter conditions at the poolside in the mornings, while late evenings are typically used by business travelers looking to unwind after long meetings. This area caters to diverse needs – from active relaxation to stress-free unwinding – while remaining manageable, ensuring short distances and uncomplicated processes.
Location, Access & Public Transport: How to Reach the Hotel and Congress Centrum
The address Pleichertorstraße 5 leads directly to the river, where the hotel and Congress Centrum are located side by side along the banks of the Main. This location combines tranquility by the water with immediate proximity to the city center: The main train station is about a ten-minute walk away, the Old Main Bridge is just under a kilometer away, and the Cathedral and Residence are also within walking distance. For arrivals by train, the route is intuitive: From the station, a direct path leads through the ring park to the riverbank; alternatively, tram line 2 towards Zellerau takes you to the stop 'Congress Centrum', from which it is just a few steps to the hotel entrance. Those arriving by car benefit from signage to the CCW; navigation devices reliably guide you through the major access routes into the city center. After crossing the Friedensbrücke, the Congress Centrum is immediately visible, with the entrance to the parking garage just a few meters further. For congresses, the city provides additional services, such as contingents or congress tickets for public transport, which organizers can arrange for their participants. The location by the Main also allows for short distances for ancillary programs: Walks to the Old Crane, photo stops on the Old Main Bridge, or visits to Franconian wine taverns can be easily planned. Digital map providers are helpful for orientation; relevant search terms like 'Maritim Hotel Würzburg Pleichertorstraße' or 'Congress Centrum Würzburg' lead directly to the point. Those arriving late can rely on 24-hour parking availability and illuminated paths for safe access. The combination of proximity to the train station, bridge access, and clear signage makes the journey reliable – whether alone, with family, or as part of a larger delegation.
Events & Capacities: Rooms in the Hotel and Congress Centrum Würzburg
The Maritim Hotel Würzburg offers meeting and banquet facilities for up to 380 people within the hotel itself, spread across 6 rooms, 2 conference suites, and 6 meeting rooms. For workshops and seminars, variable seating arrangements are available, and thanks to the hotel operation, coffee breaks, business lunches, and evening events can be organized seamlessly. The unique advantage of this location lies in its direct architectural connection to the Congress Centrum Würzburg. There, an additional 10 conference and event rooms are available, covering a range from small breakout sessions to large plenary meetings. Capacities range from groups of about 20 people to events with up to 1,635 guests. Additionally, variable foyer and exhibition spaces are available on three levels, totaling around 3,300 square meters – ideal for accompanying fairs, poster areas, product presentations, or catering islands. For technical requirements, event management and facility management work closely together; from standard setups with projection and sound technology to more complex stage and lighting concepts, customized solutions can be implemented. The close proximity between hotel rooms, meeting rooms, and exhibition areas minimizes transfer times; speakers can retreat briefly, and participants can spontaneously meet in the bar or on the outdoor terraces. Logistically advantageous are the designated loading zones at the CCW, which facilitate deliveries, as well as the parking options directly at the hotel. For accompanying programs, Würzburg offers an attractive backdrop thanks to its wine tradition, river cruises, and baroque settings. Whether a scientific congress, association meeting, product launch, or gala – the combination of hotel and CCW creates reliable capacities and professional processes that meet the demands of both international events and regional gatherings.
Prices, Seasonalities & Useful Planning Details
The pricing structure at the Maritim Hotel Würzburg is based – as is common in city hotels – on travel dates, demand, and availability. Helpful for travel planning are the fixed service times: Check-in from 3:00 PM, check-out until 12:00 PM, breakfast daily from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM, pool from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, sauna from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and fitness from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. For parking, it is advisable to check the daily maximum rate of around €20 and to see if an event rate or a multi-day parking ticket is more economical. For e-mobility, eight defined charging points are available in the parking garage; those relying on a free charging station should ideally arrive a bit earlier. During highly sought-after dates – including trade fair periods, large congresses at the CCW, and city highlights such as wine festivals and Christmas markets – early reservation of room contingents and event spaces is worthwhile. For smaller meetings in the hotel, packages including technology, coffee breaks, and lunch can simplify budgeting; for large events at the CCW, the local convention team assists with room planning, exhibitor spaces, and program points. Leisure guests benefit from the riverside location: A short walk to the Old Main Bridge or a view from the river promenade of the Marienberg Fortress is practically a must. Culinary diversity is also offered – from the Franconian wine tavern in the hotel to restaurants within a few minutes' walk. Those wishing to stay actively engaged can integrate pool and fitness times into their daily plan. Overall, it can be said: With reliable opening hours, clear capacity information, and the integration of hotel, underground garage, and Congress Centrum, the location provides a solid foundation for planned stays – from weekend trips to international congresses.

I want to share my very bad experience with this hotel. At check-in, a Mr. J. lied to us since 2 PM. We were supposed to get 2 rooms on the 6th floor with a couple of friends. In the end, after 3 PM, we got one room on the 6th and another one from 3:30 PM on the 7th floor. The cleaning staff wouldn't be able to manage today's workload. We caught a cleaning lady sitting on the stairs on the 6th floor, using her phone. We were lied to and treated as if we weren't quite right. NEVER AGAIN. This hotel is unfortunately not recommendable. This hotel has no parking spaces and lacks polite service staff. I also reserve the right to send a brief message to the corporate head, Ms. Monika Gornmolla and her staff.

Really nice, large, and clean room (suite) with a view of the Main, facing a dim and dirty underground garage with a height of partly 1.90m. Breakfast really offers everything your heart desires. A small deduction for service due to a strange reaction to our comment that there was a price list in the room (16€ per day parking fee), but we were charged 20€ per day. That's just how it is, nothing can be done! 😳 Customer retention works differently.

I wanted to treat myself and my wife, so we booked the Maritim in Würzburg. So far the idea... We thought: for 2 nights at 415€ (!) you can expect something. Upon arrival and asking for a parking space, we were told at reception: "I'm sorry, there are no private parking spaces. You would have to try the parking garage at the congress center." However, the parking garage was full, so we embarked on our first adventure: searching for a parking spot. Found one after 30 minutes and about 2 km away. Only 20€ per day. (Bargain) Then walked back to the hotel with our luggage. After checking in, we asked about the sauna. "Using the sauna costs 5€ per person" (Of course, the room was also a bargain at a delicate 415€). Breakfast is not included either. That would be another 106€ for 2 nights! Now for the best part: The room: The promised minibar was an empty fridge with a sign saying: there's a vending machine with drinks at the entrance (of course, they were completely overpriced). The air conditioning didn't get cold, so we slept with the window open right on the main road. The TV changed channels on its own (probably from the neighboring room). I know from other, much cheaper hotels that things like shoehorns, bathrobes, slippers, and sewing kits are available. None of that here. With the room safe, you had to guess how it worked. No description. Everywhere in the room, there were reminders to save water and protect the climate, but you could only turn the shower on or off electrically. The water flow couldn't be adjusted. CONCLUSION: In our eyes, it's pure rip-off. There are better hotels that are closer to the old town and significantly cheaper.

Unfortunately, I didn't find the stay very convincing. The staff at the reception seemed absent and disinterested. I specifically asked if the room had a large double bed, and it was confirmed – but then it turned out to be a room with two single beds. It's also a shame that they can't manually assign rooms. I recommend better training for the staff in the hotel software (I was also a receptionist and know what's possible), so that mistakes like incorrect room information don't happen anymore. Additionally, the luggage room is not locked, which made me feel uneasy. When I went to get my luggage, I wasn't checked, so anyone could have just walked in. A little mishap on the side: I left blue roses on one of the lobby tables (not even 5 minutes!), and when I came back, they were gone, and no one knew anything, so the staff wasn't very attentive or careful. The breakfast is diverse, and there are also vegan options, so that's something good.

Great hotel, excellent service, gigantic breakfast. We just had a bit of bad luck with the room facing the "street" – it was extremely loud at night. If possible, always book the "garden side". The bar in the evening is also recommended. The location of the hotel is top with direct access to the Congress Hall.
