Environmental Station Würzburg at Nigglweg 5: Address, Location, and First Impression

The exact address is Nigglweg 5, 97082 Würzburg. The location is in the Zellerau district and is connected to various areas of the city via Zeller Straße. Those coming from the Old Main Bridge can initially follow Zeller Straße uphill and turn right into Nigglweg after about 250 meters. After about 80 meters, the Environmental Station is on the left side. This description is particularly helpful for visitors who are making their way to a lecture, a tour, or a consultation for the first time.

The environment shapes the perception of the building. The Environmental Station is not isolated in an industrial area but is situated in an area connected with green spaces, paths, and the nearby state garden show park. This allows many topics of environmental education to be illustrated directly on site. Questions about city trees, biodiversity, climate adaptation, sustainable mobility, or the relationship between humans and nature can be addressed not only theoretically. The grounds and adjacent open spaces provide the opportunity to connect observations directly with information.

For those searching for photos of the Environmental Station of the city of Würzburg, exterior views are particularly informative. They show a functional, publicly used building in a green environment and convey an impression of the entrance, the grounds, and the location at Nigglweg. However, the image search should always be cross-referenced with the official address, as regional websites, event portals, and image archives may use different capture data.

The Environmental Station can be reached by phone at 0931 374400 and by email at umweltstation@stadt.wuerzburg.de. For specific events, registrations, or questions about special offers, prior contact is recommended. Opening hours and event dates may vary, as individual tours, workshops, or evening events may take place outside regular office hours.

Opening Hours and Environmental Consultation in Würzburg

The regular opening hours of the Environmental Station of the city of Würzburg are Monday to Thursday from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. These times are important for anyone who wants to pick up informational materials, clarify a general question, or learn about current offers. Events often have their own start and end times. Therefore, it should always be checked whether registration is required or if access is only possible at a specific time when planning a visit.

Content-wise, the Environmental Station is a center for waste, energy, and environmental consultation. The topics range from proper waste separation and reuse to energy-saving construction and efficient plant technology to funding opportunities, mobility, and sustainable everyday life. The facility provides brochures, informational materials, and specialist literature. This makes it suitable not only for spontaneous questions but also for in-depth preparation for lessons, projects, club work, or private decisions.

An important focus is education for sustainable development. It is not only about environmental knowledge but also about how people can recognize connections and shape their everyday lives responsibly. Topics such as consumption, energy, climate, waste, biodiversity, and global justice can be interconnected. The Environmental Station translates complex issues into understandable information, practical suggestions, and dialogue-oriented formats.

Additionally, the work includes offers from the Local Agenda 21, working groups, lectures, tours, and nature experiences. For children and families, there are age-appropriate access points, including children's birthdays and activities related to nature and the environment. Schools and kindergartens can use the Environmental Station as an extracurricular learning location. Adults also benefit from consulting offers and events that address specific questions of daily life.

The Environmental Station carries the quality seal of Environmental Education.Bavaria. This award stands for high-quality extracurricular environmental education work and underscores the professional orientation of the facility. For visitors, this means above all: the location connects municipal consultation, educational offerings, and public events with a clear reference to sustainable development.

Events, Tours, and Program of the Environmental Station

The event program of the Environmental Station is diverse and changes throughout the year. Typical formats include nature tours, lectures, discussion evenings, creative workshops, informational events, and outdoor activities. The topics are oriented towards current questions from the environment, climate, nature, and animal protection. This makes the Environmental Station interesting for people who are specifically looking for an event as well as for visitors who initially want to inform themselves generally.

Nature tours often lead into the immediate surroundings. An example is walks through the state garden show park from 1990, where trees, urban greenery, ecological connections, and the significance of plants in climate change are the focus. Such tours make it clear that environmental education does not necessarily have to take place in a seminar room. The city itself becomes a learning place where biological features, usage history, and climate issues can be interconnected.

Discussion formats are also part of the profile. Climate Talks provide space to engage with questions of climate protection, adaptation, and social responsibility. In such events, knowledge transfer is not the only focus. Equally important are exchange, different perspectives, and the opportunity to share one's own experiences. The Environmental Station thus creates a low-threshold environment for people who want to engage or are looking for an initial access to climate issues.

Throughout the year, special actions also take place. These include animal protection flea markets, where organizations from the region offer informational and sales stands. The proceeds can benefit domestic and wildlife protection. Creative events like a winter wonderland combine joint crafting with upcycling ideas and sustainable consumption. Literature and music formats on the grounds show that environmental education can also have cultural and social dimensions.

For families and young visitors, participatory offers are particularly important. Nature can be observed, touched, explored, and worked on in one's own projects. The Environmental Station thus offers an alternative to purely digital knowledge transfer. Those looking for the current program should check the event pages of the city of Würzburg, as dates, registration deadlines, weather conditions, and event locations may vary depending on the offer.

Discover Environmental Station Würzburg Photos and Grounds

The search query Environmental Station of the city of Würzburg Photos shows that many people want to gain a visual impression of the place before a visit. Photos can help with orientation and show how the building, the entrance area, and the outdoor grounds appear. However, especially for an Environmental Station, not only the architecture is relevant. Equally significant are images of events, nature tours, exhibition elements, information stands, and participatory actions.

The grounds at Nigglweg 5 create a connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. Events can take place in the building, but also outdoors in suitable weather. During a nature tour, the surroundings themselves become the subject of observation. In contrast, at a flea market or a festival, open meeting spaces are created where consultation, exchange, and community activities can be combined.

The proximity to the state garden show park from 1990 is particularly interesting for the profile of the location. The park offers different plant and landscape impressions and allows for walks where urban ecology becomes tangible. Trees, paths, shaded areas, and green spaces can serve as examples to discuss biodiversity, heat in cities, quality of stay, and climate adaptation. This makes the Environmental Station interesting for photo and nature enthusiasts as well as for school classes or families.

When using images, attention should be paid to the respective rights. Not every photo found through a search engine may be copied, published, or used for one's own websites. Official pages of the city of Würzburg are suitable for initial orientation. Regional image archives can provide additional views but usually point out their own usage conditions. For editorial projects, image rights and credits should always be checked separately.

Those who want to discover the Environmental Station photographically can combine the visit with a walk through Zellerau and the adjacent green areas. This creates different perspectives: the path along Zeller Straße, the entrance at Nigglweg, the surroundings of the building, and the transitions to the open spaces. Especially during events, it becomes visible how the location functions as a public meeting point. The photo search is thus not only a question of the building but also a way to get to know the atmosphere and thematic diversity of the place.

Access to Environmental Station Würzburg by Tram, Bicycle, and Car

The path leads past the swimming pool towards the Environmental Station. This connection is particularly suitable for events where many people are traveling, as it allows access via public transport.

It is also easily reachable on foot or by bicycle. From the Old Main Bridge, the path leads diagonally right across Zeller Straße. After about 250 meters, you turn right into Nigglweg. After about 80 meters, the Environmental Station is on the left side. Those arriving by bicycle should pay attention to local traffic and parking options. The specific situation may vary depending on the event, construction site, or temporary closure.

Access by car is via Zeller Straße into Nigglweg. The location is accessible from the direction of Wörthstraße, Frankfurter Straße, or Höchberger Straße. Since the number of parking spaces may be limited and in higher demand during larger events, it is advisable to arrive by tram, bicycle, or on foot whenever possible.

The good accessibility is a practical advantage of the location. Environmental education should be open to as many people as possible, and a combination of tram, walking paths, bicycle routes, and public parking supports this claim. Those visiting the address for the first time can combine the visit with a walk through the adjacent greenery and get to know the location better at the same time.

Rooms, Offers, and Importance as an Event Location

The Environmental Station is primarily an educational, consulting, and meeting place. There is no publicly designated maximum room capacity or a classic seating plan like in a theater or concert hall. Therefore, the location should not be compared to a large event hall. Its strength lies rather in the flexible use for lectures, seminars, discussion rounds, workshops, exhibitions, consultations, and smaller to medium-sized community actions.

Under the guiding principle of meeting, conferencing, and organizing, the offerings are also aimed at groups and initiatives. The rooms can be used for educational work, working groups, and thematic events. The crucial factor is the content connection to environment, sustainability, education, or social engagement. Those planning their own event should clarify early on what room size, technology, seating, accessibility, and equipment are needed.

The environment of the Environmental Station also includes informational materials, specialist literature, consulting offers, and a lending station. Here, among other things, cargo bikes and materials for lessons, excursions, or actions can be borrowed. Such offers make the location practically usable and support the implementation of sustainable ideas beyond the individual visit.

The thematic range extends from waste avoidance and reuse to energy, nature, urban climate, and sustainable consumption. The repair room, actions on upcycling, and information on regional, fair, and organic products show how broadly environmental education is understood. Not every event follows the same process: some offers are informative, others practical, creative, cultural, or oriented towards outdoor activities.

The Environmental Station thus fulfills an important function for Würzburg. It bundles knowledge, consultation, and engagement in a well-accessible location. People can ask questions, participate in tours, receive materials, develop their own projects, and engage in conversation with other interested parties. For schools, families, clubs, and individuals, this creates a versatile access to sustainable development. Those looking for a special location in Würzburg will find here not an anonymous event space, but a place with a public mandate and a visible connection to nature and society.

Special Features, History, and Practical Tips for the Visit

The Environmental Station is closely linked to the environmental education work of the city of Würzburg. Its development is related to municipal tasks surrounding environmental information, consultation, and education for sustainable development. The location in the vicinity of the state garden show park from 1990 supports the practical character of the offerings. Historical and ecological topics can be connected without visitors having to leave the district.

A special quality is the combination of consultation and experience. Those interested in energy issues can use informational offers. Some events only take place in dry weather or have a meeting point at the entrance of the Environmental Station. At markets and festivals, additional offers may be set up in the outdoor area. For consulting questions, the regular opening hours are the best first point of orientation.

Visitors should also keep in mind that not every event takes place daily and that the program varies seasonally. For specific questions, the Environmental Station, the phone number 0931 374400, and the email address umweltstation@stadt.wuerzburg.de are available.

Very friendly staff and there are a lot of informative materials available for all age groups. The parking situation could be a bit better with extra visitor parking, but I gladly accept that for such a nice educational institution.

I treated myself to an energy consultation from Mr. Gablonzka. Just a waste of time. Generalities, no solid answers to specific questions. Simply disappointing. Professional competence is close to zero.
