Art Aperitif at the Museum in the Cultural Storage Würzburg
Understanding history, taking responsibility: On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, the Museum in the Cultural Storage invites you to a special short tour with Marcus Andrew Hurttig through the Municipal Collection. The evening combines art viewing with a critical examination of the museum's history.
Art, History, and Social Responsibility
At the center is the founding history of the Museum in the Cultural Storage. As a successor institution to the Municipal Gallery established in 1941 on the orders of the then NS city government, the museum reflects on its own past and the resulting responsibility.
The tour illustrates how an art and culture venue can contribute to strengthening democratic fundamental values. Visitors will experience an expert contextualization of the collection and receive insights into democracy, human dignity, and social cohesion.
Atmosphere of a Focused Director's Tour
Marcus Andrew Hurttig will lead through the Municipal Collection and open new perspectives on selected works and the institutional development of the house. The event combines professional expertise with a personal conversational atmosphere and invites collective reflection.
